Medical services

Oncology / Hematology

NWMS is dedicated to providing compassionate, high quality and cost-effective medical services and to providing services outside of the confines of the hospital setting when outpatient care is appropriate and consistent with the needs and desires of the patient and family.

Each of our offices is staffed by board certified oncologists/hematologists, specially trained oncology nurses and administrative staffs, and has a full service clinic offering chemotherapy treatments, other types of infusions, laboratory services, and access to clinical research trials.

All cancer patients can expect high quality, comprehensive cancer care. There are also many opportunities to participate in clinical trials that offer you the chance to receive promising new therapies not otherwise available.

Breast Cancer SurvivorsBreast Cancer patients at NWMS can expect some additional benefits.  All new breast cancer cases are presented at a breast cancer conference where radiologists, surgeons, radiation and medical oncologists, and support staff specializing in the care of breast cancer patients meet together to review each new patient and outline the best options for her care. We also help connect you with many other resources for women with breast cancer that are available in our communities.

Listed below are details concerning the medical services offered in each of our offices.

Outpatient Infusion Services

If your Doctor has prescribed an intravenous form of treatment for you, you can be rest assured that we have a dedicated team of well trained and specialty certified nurses who will be able to provide you this therapy 7 days a week.  Our offices have infusion room areas within the clinics that are designed to maintain your comfort during your treatments with us. Some treatments may only take a few minutes while other treatments may take several hours.

Our infusion clinics have amenities available . . .

to make your stay with us as comfortable as possible. In addition to these amenities, you are welcome to bring your own personal comfort measures such as blankets, CD players with headphones, or you favorite book.

Many insurance companies have specific regulations concerning administering intravenous therapy in our office versus a hospital setting. Our staff will investigate these requirements fully to determine where the most appropriate location is for you to receive your treatments.

Admixture Services

All of the intravenous medications that your physician prescribes for you will be given to you from our admixture service. These staff members provide these medications to the nursing staff.  If you are a patient of ours that is receiving your treatment at home, the admix department will prepare your medication for you on a weekly basis or teach you how to prepare it.  The admix staff helps facilitate your treatment and are available to answer any questions you may have.

Laboratory Services

Many of the decisions about the type and amount of intravenous therapy you receive will be based on laboratory work ordered by your physician. Or, your physician may use these tests results to determine the progress being made in treating your disease process.  For your convenience, our clinic has a full service laboratory to complete these tests for you.
