Rohan Sharma, MD
I am a board-certified internist, hematologist, and oncologist at Northwest Medical Specialties who is genuinely excited to bring care to the South Sound area. I was born in the UK, but moved to the midwest when I was young to my home state of Indiana (go Colts!) I went to college at Northwestern University (go Wildcats!) and then returned to Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis for medical school. I continued my training at University of Illinois-Chicago for internal medicine and subsequently completed my hematology/oncology fellowship at Albert Einstein/Montefiore Medical Center in New York City.
Throughout my training, I have demonstrated a passion for global health, volunteer work and cancer awareness in my free time. I volunteered throughout medical school with health education of Burmese refugees and during residency at a free health clinic at Community health Chicago serving primarily the underserved communities of the Westside of Chicago. One of my favorite experiences in training included the opportunity to travel to Guangzhou, China for an oncology rotation. All these experiences have been integral into making me into the oncologist I am and continue to strive to be.
In my free time, I am involved as the education chair of "Family Jewels Foundation", a testicular cancer awareness nonprofit, in order to help spread awareness of testicular cancer in the Seattle/Tacoma area. I am also active with the Medical Executive Committees of St Francis and St Joseph Hospital, in order to assist with and execute local quality improvement initiatives. From a more leisurely perspective, I enjoy playing guitar, experiencing live music, exercising, playing with my toddler son Kai, and traveling abroad and throughout my new home in the Pacific Northwest!
