Registered Nurse Practitioner in Olympia, WA

On why she chose oncology: “After 16 years in primary care, I was ready for a change. Oncology offers the intellectual challenge of the rapidly changing field, of a better understanding of how and why cancer develops, and in utilizing the resulting new treatment options. Additionally, I appreciate the close relationships that develop with our patients. I think of the patients I see as my extended family. My years working in Oncology, although challenging at times, have been very rewarding.” – Marles Geist, ARNP
Marles attended Washington State University for her pre-nursing courses, Boston University for her Bachelor of Science in Nursing, and Portland University for her Masters of Science in Nursing specializing in the care of adults. She has worked abroad, served on the Providence Hospital Ethics Committee, and was the unit manager of the Intensive Care Unit at Providence Hospital Centralia. She has instructed in the nursing program at Centralia College, St. Martin’s University, Lower Columbia Community College, as well as in a privately-owned continuing education business that provided nursing education across the United States.
