Advocacy Chats: Providing Cancer Care to Rural Patients

Please join us for our monthly virtual CPAN Advocacy Chat Educational Conversations on Cancer Advocacy and Policy!

Join the Community Oncology Alliance Patient Advocacy Network (CPAN) for a conversation on the challenges and rewards of treating patients with cancer in rural areas on Wednesday, September 18, at 12 p.m. ET. Harsha Vyas, MD, FACP, serves rural Georgia residents as a physician at the Cancer Center of Middle Georgia. Dr. Vyas joins COA’s Director of Patient Advocacy and Education, Rose Gerber, MS, to discuss the differences in rural and urban cancer care, including patient profiles, navigating a different kind of medical ecosystem, and addressing staffing shortages. Dr. Vyas will also address the challenges of attracting physicians and bringing clinical trials to rural areas.
