Community Resources

Northwest Medical Specialties actively promotes the latest advancements in the field of cancer care and treatment in the South Sound region. Below are a few local and national organizations you might like to review that help provided direct health and wellness benefits to local residents:

American Cancer Society

The American Cancer Society is a nationwide, community-based voluntary health organization dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health problem. Headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, the ACS has 12 chartered Divisions, more than 900 local offices nationwide, and a presence in more than 5,100 communities.

Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS)

Since 1949, LLS has been dedicated to curing leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma. The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) is the world’s largest voluntary (nonprofit) health organization dedicated to funding blood cancer research and providing education and patient services.

Partners in Personal Oncology (PiPO)

As a Seattle-based initiative, Partners in Personal Oncology links intellectual resources and technologies across institutions to optimize the care and treatment of cancer patients in Washington State. It is their ultimate goal to extend these benefits to cancer patients nationally and worldwide. Their operational model consists of integrated partnerships/alliances, to create an optimized point-of-care recommendation for each individual cancer patient. They serve as an engine directing cancer patients to treatments that are most likely to benefit them, increasing the efficiency of drug development and ultimately reducing cost.

Statewide Health Insurance Benefits Advisors (SHIBA)

Washington state’s SHIBA provides free, unbiased and confidential help with Medicare and health care choices to people of all ages and backgrounds. Our volunteer advisers, located around the state, can help you:
