Each day at NWMS, we have the opportunity to touch the lives of our patients and be their guidance and support through their journey with cancer. We are fortunate to be able to form close relationships with our patients, but don’t always have the chance to capture the impact of these relationships to share with all of you. We had just such a chance recently and are happy to share the patient encounter between our Case Manager RN, Deanna Sigl, and one of her close patients below:
“I had a meeting set up with Deanna yesterday to discuss the patient appreciation event coming up at the end of the year. As we were discussing this event , a patient who adores Deanna, popped into her office to wish her a Happy Birthday.
What followed put tears in our eyes as this patient described in detail how much Deanna meant to her along her cancer journey. She said that the way Deanna cared left her full of inspiration & made her feel powerful. She expressed that the genuine compassion that Deanna showed made her feel a deep human connection that touched her heart & soul. She also said her entire family knows how strongly she feels about Deanna & the gratitude she has for being cared for.
This truly touched our hearts & we wanted to share this connection with you to express what a difference Deanna is making with the patients.”
