NWMS is a wonderful place to practice because of the passionate providers and staff dedicated to patient-centered quality care that includes innovative clinical trials and precision oncology.
Dr. Emily Stevens is a Hematologist and Oncologist with a focus on benign hematology, hematologic malignancies, and breast cancer. She has a special interest in cellular therapies, immuno-oncology, and precision oncology. She has been active in oncology and cancer research dating back to 1998. She completed the medical scientist training program (MD, PhD) at the University of Wisconsin, residency in internal medicine and fellowship in hematology and oncology at the University of Washington and Fred Hutch Cancer Center. Prior to joining NWMS, she specialized in myeloid neoplasms, stem cell transplant, and using predictive features and biomarkers to identify which patients were most likely to benefit from novel cancer therapies studied in clinical trials and real-world data.
Dr. Stevens’ practice focuses on evidence-based individualized care that considers the whole person. She strives to meet patients where they are and support their goals and needs to make care decisions together. She finds human connection with patients and their support systems rewarding.
Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with family playing board games, visiting Kauai, gardening, and training dogs.
